INVOLVEMENT

As the son and grandson of immigrants, Flores is deeply proud of his roots and prides himself on being an active, civically minded Latino CEO. In addition to serving on the Illinois Business Immigration Coalition Board and the Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Schools Board, he has spoken to the students of and has been recognized as an Emerging Leader by the National Latino Education Institute. Additionally, he was a member of the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting, a professional organization that works to enhance opportunities for Latinos in the accounting, finance, and related professions. Flores is also working to earn his Master in Ministry from Chicago Theological Union, hoping to focus on ministering to the Hispanic community of Chicago.

Zeke is also a proud mentor with the Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation’s Real Estate Education program, which provides young people with a mentor in the real estate field that they can shadow to learn about the business.

Always looking to form positive connections, in 2016 Flying Concessions helped forge a partnership between ASPIRA Schools of Illinois and Brookstone that gave 30 students the opportunity to learn how products evolve from concept to reality – and every step in between.

ASPIRA business and finance students were given a behind-the-scenes tour of the Brookstone stores at Old Orchard Mall and O’Hare International Airport, allowing them to compare the differences between a large format store and a smaller format airport location. Students also met with Brookstone executives and were also able to pitch their product ideas, in conjunction with Brookstone Launch, an online product submission platform.
