Manolis Alpogianis, Operations

Manolis Alpogianis has more than 22 years of diversified restaurant & business experience and is recognized as a leader in the Chicago restaurant and civic communities. He is co-owner and President of TAG Restaurants, Inc. and manages concession operations for Flying Concessions. Alpogianis is a strategic partner that provides day-to-day management expertise for Flying Concessions in order to ensure a robust bottom line.

Alpogianis currently operates seven high volume restaurants in Chicago, five of which are located in downtown Chicago and two at O’Hare International Airport – America’s Dog and Green Market. America’s Dog and Green Market are joint ventures between TAG Restaurants and Flying Concessions, two small businesses that are an anomaly in the airport concessions industry: Flying Concessions is one of the few Latino-run concessionaires while TAG Restaurants is one of the few locally-owned, family-run small businesses.

A lifelong Chicago resident, Alpogianis’ family has been in the Chicago restaurant business for three generations. Graduating from the University of Illinois Chicago, he began his career with the legendary Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises, and then joined the management team of California Pizza Kitchen. In 1995, he opened his first restaurant at Chicago’s Navy Pier which gave him the start to then go on to develop the multi-restaurant company, TAG Restaurants, LLC.

Alpogianis is on the Board of the Illinois Restaurant Association, Common Threads Board, and is active in the Chicago Loop Alliance, the Chicago Chamber of Commerce and the Chicago-land Entrepreneurial Center & Service Works Chicago.

Alpogianis first met Zeke Flores in 2010; the two have been business partners since 2015.
