Eric Kicherer, Senior Advisor

Eric Kicherer has more than 15 years of airport retail planning and real estate development experience and supports Flying Concessions’ business development efforts. Kicherer also assists Flying Concessions in the creation of concepts and proposal teams for potential projects. His role at Flying Concessions marries his unique background in the business and marketing worlds with his passion for travel retail.

Kicherer is experienced in all aspects of airport real estate development—from the initial design and planning to concept development, financial analysis, public procurement, leasing and operations. He began his career in market research before serving as the City of Chicago’s Manager of Budget, Finance and Planning on the redevelopment of Navy Pier. In 1998, Kicherer shifted to aviation consulting, focusing on new terminal retail development projects in airports across the United States.

Working aside airport authorities, airlines and architects he has planned new, award-winning retail concession programs for over 20 international airports. He represents blue chip airport retail brands such as XpresSpa and Brookstone Stores, growing Brookstone into the largest nationally-branded specialty retailer in the industry with over 50 airport locations and growing XpresSpa from 4 locations to over 50 airport spas.

Kicherer earned an MBA from the Northwestern Kellogg School of Management, concentrating on finance, marketing and public management after earning his BS in Management from Purdue University.
